This advanced technology uses a cone-shaped X-ray beam to capture information that is then converted into a 3D image. CBCT technology allows the entire anatomy of the treatment area to be captured in one single rotation, significantly reducing patient radiation exposure while still capturing a quality image. CBCT allows for a sharper image with a higher resolution compared to those collected with medical CT.
When you receive a CBCT scan in our office, you will need to remain still during the duration of the scan, which should only take about a minute.
